Beth of Fresh Air — Episode 43

Focus with Lisa Marie Redl

Live Friday September 11 @ 2 PM CDT

In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, I'm hosting Lisa Marie Redl, a woman who has paid the price for speaking out and learned a thing or two about navigating noise, attention, and discernment along the way.

Our conversation is called Focus, and we're talking about ADHD.

Lisa Marie was diagnosed with ADHD, and I want to hear what that experience has actually been like for her. How did she get diagnosed? What did the diagnosis mean for her? What has she discovered since? And most importantly, what has she actually done that has worked to create greater focus in her life?

Of course, she's also raising four young children, so ADHD might be somewhat built into the experience. 😄

I want to poke some holes in the way we think about ADHD itself.

We live in a world that is almost perfectly designed to fracture attention. Screens, notifications, social media, endless information, chronic stimulation, stress, noise, and a culture that continually asks us to shift our attention from one thing to another.

How much of what we call an attention disorder is also part of the modern human condition?

And what if focus is something we have to work for and earn?

We don't expect physical strength without using our muscles. We train, practice, challenge ourselves, and gradually become stronger.

Why would attention be any different?

Focus is a capacity. It can be practiced. It can be strengthened. And in a world competing relentlessly for our attention, developing it may be more important than ever.

I also want this conversation to bring greater insight into the lives of people who were branded with an ADHD diagnosis, medicated, and then left at the mercy of conventional medicine and psychiatry.

What has helped? What hasn't? What questions weren't asked? And what becomes possible when someone begins experimenting with their own capacity for attention and discovers what actually works for them?

About Lisa Marie Redl

A self-proclaimed De-Influencer, Lisa Marie is a former TV/radio news reporter and host turned mom of four who now encourages people to not watch the news, while still practicing their own discernment when navigating the noise that is the truth movement.

She learned that lesson the hard way!

Join us for a conversation about ADHD, attention, modern life, and the work of developing the capacity to Focus.

If we're just meeting...

I’m Beth Martens—founder of the House of Free Will, pattern hunter, archetype reader, podcaster, author, coach trainer, and June 2019-96 business coach. My calling has truly been a life-or-death matter. After a decade as a corporate VP in my family’s firm, eight transformative trips to India, and a three-year battle with cancer nearly 25 years ago, I turned to archetypes and deep deprogramming work to save my life.

Despite doing everything wrong based on limited health knowledge, I accessed the hidden inner roots of what was keeping me sick, stuck, and unconscious. Letting those patterns go changed everything. I went from dying to living almost overnight.

Today, I help people who love truth more than their beliefs—people who want to serve with their life’s work and walk their Hero’s Journey—to deprogram the beast system from within and stop unconsciously feeding the forces that harm us.

I host the King Hero interview series, where I spotlight leaders, entrepreneurs, movement makers, and lovers of freedom who are carving new paths in a world that desperately needs them. And I also share my own voice, insights, and stories through my new solo podcast, Beth of Fresh Air.
